Mini
bull whips offer a practical alternative to short snake and signal
whips. These short bullwhips are beautifully finished, easy to
crack and - with their steel lined handles - great target
whips for people who prefer a bullwhip's solid handle over a
flexible snake whip, but who have limited space in which to use it. Some
people find them a little bit easier for mastering precision
target work. At 3 feet long, they are very compact whips that
can be used in most indoor spaces.
My mini bullwhips have the following features:

choice of shot loaded or naturally falling thong: both
with a traditional 'whip within a whip' double plaited belly
construction giving a dense, responsive bullwhip that will
provide many years of service.
Balanced,
steel lined, 6 inch handle.
Pineapple
knot turk's head, complemented by a decorative
herringbone knot at the transition (other knots can be used
if you prefer).
Smoothly
tapered thong terminating at a fine, tight, point for
easy cracking.
Reinforcement
in every layer of the whip.

kangaroo hide construction. I don't sell 'kangaroo hide'
whips with cowhide cores, bolsters or fillers (Falls are
made with highest quality oak tanned / drum stuffed
cowhide).

Foot (90 cm) Kangaroo hide Bull Whips
If you like a whip
with a solid handle, but need to be able to use it
where space is at a premium, a mini bullwhip is your
answer.
Despite their
shortness, these 3 foot bull whips have a slow enough
action to be comfortably thrown for prolonged periods. Other than
their optional shot loading and short handles, they are little different to
my longer
bullwhips.
8 plait mini bullwhips are the best choice for work whips. The
wider lace in the handle and upper thong is more
resistant to stretching, so the whip will have a
longer working life than higher plait bull whips if
subjected to heavy daily use. Having no strands dropped from the overlay,
these whips offer the
greatest design purity and cleanest lines. Novices may find
them harder to crack when new but they break in to become reliable, well behaved,
mini bullwhips that
look good and don't cost the earth.
12 plait mini bullwhips
are my original design. The narrower lace in the
overlay and 2nd belly gives better compression and
a smoother action than the 8 plait mini bull
whips;
while retaining much of their durability. These whips have
a finer look to them, with single diamond and six
seam work in the upper thong.
16 plait mini bullwhips
are very pretty little whips - well suited to the
collector and enthusiast - with a smoother
action due to the use of higher plait belies. They
retain their
liveliness well due to reinforcement in every
layer of the whip and the additional compression
that is possible from the use of narrow lace.
Easier to crack when new, and breaking in more
quickly than the 8 and 12 plaits, these are whips
for the enthusiast who wants durability, beauty,
and many years of use.

Lash
Loop Mini Bullwhip: As with a number of my more
unusual whips, this design started out as a custom
commission. I liked it so much that I decided to add
it to the site.
If you want to be able to change the
end of your whip easily and quickly, you want a Lash
Loop Bull Whip. These are slightly more time consuming
to make than the standard bullwhip, but they are great
little whips with a smooth action. The addition of the
lash loop enables you to put a wide range of ends on
the whip - and to change them in just a few seconds -
making a very versatile single tail / quirt / multi
tail whip that is sure to become a firm favourite.
Options: This
whip works very well at 3.5 feet, with a lash
around 15 inches; and the prices listed are for that
length. Minus £5.00 from the price for a 3 foot whip.
The whip comes with a single or
double lash as standard (see picture). A second single
or double lash, or cracker and fall, adds £5.00 to
the price. Custom lashes can be added for an fee - let you me know what you want and
I'll quote you a price.

Add
a hanging loop: The
best way of storing your whip is to hang it up. A
small hanging loop on your mini bullwhip, or
lash loop bullwhip, enables you to do this but does
not get in the way, as a wrist loop can.
